PMB conditions are not included in this benefit
The benefit shall not be charged to the member's individual savings

Includes approved medication or injection material where a member or dependant of a member is suffering from a chronic condition, i.e. any condition (other than cancer, which may require treatment by chemotherapy) requiring ongoing medication or injection material for a period in excess of three months
Does not include medication or injection material supplied or administered in a hospital or nursing home
TRP applied
All cases in excess of the above limits will be managed in terms of the Fund's medication utilisation review processes
If a co-payment is applied to the medication dispensed by the pharmacy, the member will be personally liable for settling the amount directly with the pharmacy

Any subsidies paid by the employer in respect of qualifying continuation members will continue. Active principal members who are part of the bargaining sector will continue to receive the employer's subsidy in terms of their current legal employment agreement. Active principal members who have converted to total cost of employment (TCoE) remuneration packages, pay full contribution indicated above.

Pensioners and retirees' income (that is used to determine their income bands and contributions) is based on 50% of their last BPSA pensionable earnings before retirement. This amount is increased by the consumer price index (CPI) every year.

Up to the age of 21, a dependants cover is regarded as years without cover. Medical Insurances not registered to the Council of Medical Schemes are not regarded as credible cover. Medical cover overseas is also not regarded as credible cover.
